Food labels that comply and sell

On a jar, a can or a frozen food bag, the label is both your shop window and your spec sheet. It has to look good on the shelf and meet regulations.

What your label needs

  1. Legible food information

Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 sets a minimum font size (x-height of 1.2 mm, or 0.9 mm on small packs). We check it when reviewing your artwork.

  2. The right adhesive for the pack

Glass, cans, PET or flexible bags; packs with oil, that get washed or go into the freezer. Each case has its adhesive.

  3. Shelf impact

Full colour, matt and gloss varnishes and textured papers so your product stands out.

  4. Short runs and variants

Several SKUs sharing a base design with different flavours or sizes, grouped to keep costs down.

Common labels

  • Front and back labels

Frequently asked questions

Do you check that the label complies with regulations?

We check font size, legibility and barcodes before printing. Legal content (ingredients, allergens, nutrition) is the manufacturer’s responsibility, but we will flag anything we notice.

Which material do you recommend for olive oil?

For packs that may get oily we recommend polypropylene films or papers with a protective varnish or lamination, so the label does not turn translucent.

Can I order several SKUs at once?

Yes. Grouping SKUs that share size and material usually lowers the price per label.
